Troy's life has revolved around horses and working cattle from a young age. His family bred and raised quality Quarter horses and Appaloosa’s. He started out on a pony that he would sneak into the house and ride around the kitchen table and helped the neighbor’s by trailing cattle to new pastures.
Every Summer and fall you will find him out in the branding pens and pastures assisting his family and neighbors working every aspect of the ranch life.
Troy then started competing in 4-H where it led him to his passion for competition, training and starting horses.
Receiving numerous state championships in team roping, western equation, reining and speed events. At 16, Troy started showing in APHC breed shows where he received his 1st world championship title and throughout his career earned multiple world/national championships with over 25 top 10 places in events from roping, cow horse, and other performance classes.
Troy's continual focus on improving his techniques and skills has directed him toward ranch horse and cow horse competitions. Being able to take his everyday life and horsemanship skills to the show ring has been a newfound passion.
In the past few years Troy has expanded into clinics, lessons, workshops, top hand challenges and hosting shows. For him this has been an exciting addition to his expansion of the Circle N Horsemanship facility.
Troy’s focus is on working with the individual horse to draw out confidence, softness and a willingness to work with their partner. His ability to break down horsemanship and stockmanship so every level of rider can learn, has been the leading practice into his program.
